In Celebration of

Williamina "Ena" Thorburn

July 16, 1936 -  July 4, 2019

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Williamina (Ena) Thorburn on July 4, 2019 at the age of 82. Beloved wife of John and loving mother of Elizabeth Frate (Joe), Joan Trayling (Paul), Gary Thorburn (Michelle) and Linda DiNunzio (Ettore). Loving daughter of Robert Baird Smith and Elizabeth (Selkirk) Smith.

Treasured Grandmother of Sam (Negin), Christina (Amedeo), Gary Jr, Skylar, Shannon, Holly, Kevin, Vittoria and Louis. Caring Great Grandmother of Emily, Sophia and Francesco.

Survived by siblings Florence, Fay, William, Margaret and Avril.

Ena will be sadly missed by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and countless cousins and friends. Born in Howwood, Scotland as one of 10 children; she immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1960 with her husband and two small children. Ena and John made their home in Toronto where she worked and lovingly raised her family.

Ena was a kind-hearted woman who took joy in helping everyone and lived a faithful and Godly life. "Well done thou good and faithful servant." Her family was her life’s devotion and she in turn was adored by her immediate and extended family. Memories of her will last in our hearts forever.

Friends may call at Turner & Porter Butler Chapel at 4933 Dundas Street West, Etobicoke on Sunday, July 7th from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.

A private family service to be held with interment at Sanctuary Park Cemetery.

In Ena's memory, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.

Death leaves a heart ache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal.

Mom your outward beauty is only rivaled by the beauty of your soul. Thank you for everything you have done for us. Our hearts our heavy but the burden is made lighter by our memories of which you always shone at the center. I will always remember your soft laughing eyes and gentle smile. We shall treasure them always. We will love you always and forever our beautiful mother. xo
