Vladimir Oguienko, 62, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 10, 2024.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Svetlana; his daughters, Anna and Ouliana; his mother, Maya; his sister, Natalia; and his mother-in-law, Valentina.
Vladimir was born in Berdsk, Russia. He graduated from Novosibirsk Technical University with a degree in Applied Mathematics and had a long, successful career as a software engineer. In 1999, he immigrated with his wife and daughters to Toronto, Canada.
Vladimir will be remembered for his playful sense of humour, optimistic mindset, and meticulous dedication to his family and his workplace. He enjoyed nature hikes, birdwatching, photography, and travel, taking his family on many adventurous road trips. However, his favourite place was his High Park neighbourhood, where he took daily walks with his wife, greeting every cat he encountered, and barbecuing on his favourite grill in the backyard all summer long.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and colleagues.
Visitation will take place at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 11:30am–1:00pm.
