<div itemprop="description"> <p> Richard Gilbert Stackhouse, F.C.A. </p> <p> Peacefully at Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga, on Monday, June 11, 2012 at the age of 82.&nbsp; Loving husband and best friend of Jean for 22 years. Predeceased by Edna (1988).&nbsp; Much loved father of Brent (Lori), Kerry (Marvin), Nancy (Glen), Julia (Gordon), Paula (Nicola), and&nbsp; Darcie (Michael).&nbsp; Cherished grandfather of Christopher, Sarah, Robyn, Michael, Matthew, Ryan, Samantha, Adam, Abby, Philip and John.&nbsp; Dear brother of Brock (Trish) and brother-in-law of Marian, Susan and Cynthia. Dick was a passionate woodworker.&nbsp; His largest project was &ldquo;Stack&rsquo;s Eglise&rdquo; and he was never far from his golf course.&nbsp; He loved to travel &ndash; England, Danube cruises, Egypt, Florida, Greece, South America and especially Barbados. Dick joined Price Waterhouse in 1953 and was admitted to partnership in 1967. In 1976 he was elected an FCA.&nbsp; He retired in 1992 from Price Waterhouse.&nbsp; He was initiated into the masonry in 1962, Harcourt Lodge. Dick was an active participant in community activities which included the United Way, The Salvation Army, The Church of St. Hilary, Mississaugua Golf &amp; Country Club (President in 1982), The Donwood Institute, Ontario Safety League, National Club (Past President), Council of Chairmen of Ontario Universities, Canadian National Exhibition Association (1988 &ndash; 1994), Shaw Festival (1991 &ndash; 1995), Trillium Pro Am Golf Charity, Riverwood Conservancy (2001 &ndash; 2011) and Queen&rsquo;s University (1979 &ndash; 1995) Past Chairman Board of Trustees. Established R.G. Stackhouse Scholarships, and Arts &rsquo;53 Queen&rsquo;s Bands fund, at Queen&rsquo;s University. Since 1997 Dick has kept his international family connected with a weekly letter, recently completed his autobiography and read the Bible from cover to cover.&nbsp; Friends may call at the Turner &amp; Porter &ldquo;Peel&rdquo; Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy. 10, N of QEW) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday.&nbsp; A Service to Celebrate Dick&rsquo;s life will be held at St. Hilary&rsquo;s Anglican Church, 2055 Hurontario St. on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at Mississaugua Golf and Country Club.&nbsp; Flowers gratefully declined, donations to The Salvation Army or The Richard G. Stackhouse International Award at Queen&rsquo;s University, in memory of Richard would be appreciated by the family.
