It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gavrilo Ristić, who peacefully left us at the age of 90 on January 30th, 2025, in Toronto, Ontario. He was born on July 24, 1934, in Paklenica, Tuzla, Bosnia.

Gavrilo was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Božana; his children, Sonia, Goran, Jelko (son-in-law), and Ann (daughter-in-law); as well as his four grandchildren, Melissa, Brandon, Julian, and Raine. He is also remembered fondly by all extended family.

He was predeceased by his mother Mitra, father Mihajlo, and brother Boško.

Gavrilo’s family will forever cherish his infectious laughter, his endless jokes, and his unwavering devotion to those he loved. His favorite saying to his grandchildren, “Najmiliji sunce moje” (The Dearest Sunshine of Mine), will forever resonate in their hearts.

Our beloved Dedo will always remain with us.

Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, Toronto, on Thursday, February 6th from 4-8 p.m. A Chapel Service will be held on Friday, February 7th at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Park Lawn Cemetery.
