Mrs. Danica Matesa-Maydanski passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, December 27, 2024 at the age of 92.

Danica was born on March 05, 1932 in Otok na Dobri in Croatia. She immigrated to Canada on February 20, 1970 and lived most of her life in Thunder Bay. She married the love of her life, William Maydanski, on November 18, 1981. She loved gardening and going to church.

She moved to Mississauga a few years ago to be with her niece. She's survived by her niece, Ksenija Baricevic-Kukla (Danny Kukla) and nephew, Drazen Baricevic, as well as her great-niece Barbara Nicole Kukla, along with many other relatives in Canada, Croatia, and Australia.

Danica’s visitation will be held on Friday, January 03, 2025 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, with rosary prayers at 6:00 pm at Turner & Porter Neweduk Chapel, 1981 Dundas Street West, Mississauga.

Danica’s viewing will also be held at Everest Funeral Chapel in Thunder Bay on Tuesday, January 07 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and her funeral and mass arrangements have been entrusted to the Everest Funeral Chapel at 299 Waverley Street in Thunder Bay. Mass will be held at Croatian Church Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary at 479 Oliver Road in Thunder Bay on Wednesday, January 08 at 11:00 am followed by a funeral at St. Andrew Cemetery.
