In Celebration of

Barbara Anne Cameron

November 29, 1932 -  April 21, 2025

Barbara at the age of 92 passed peacefully on April 21, 2025 at Wyndam Manor, Oakville.

Beloved wife and best friend of the late Donald Hume Cameron for 45 years. Daughter of the late Herbert and Edith Tancock. Loving mother of Ian and his wife Lucy, Robert and his wife Annie, and Catherine and her husband Darrell Mater, parents to Ryan, Jackie, Andrew and Nicole. Proud and loving grandmother to Emilia. Dear sister of the late Noreen Cooper. Sister-in-law to the late George Cooper, Dr. Peter Cameron, John Cameron, Mary Louise Cameron and Ann Cameron.

Barbara studied nursing at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Toronto where she befriended many nursing colleagues who remained cherished friends for many years. Her life was filled with many wonderful memories including family travels (even those long drives in the family station wagon). Cottaging in Haliburton and Parry Sound, world travels, volunteering with the Etobicoke General Hospital and Humber Valley United Church, curling and lively bridge club parties with friends. She will be remembered for her bright smile and infectious laughter and the love of her children.

Visitation will be Monday, April 28th, 2025 from 12 to 1pm at Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W., Toronto. Funeral services will follow on April 28th, 2025 at 1pm.

Interment will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery in Toronto.

In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Dear Cathy, Rob, Ian and family. Bernard and I extend our very sincere condolences for your mom’s death. She had a full and happy life and was fortunate to have such dedicated and loving children by her side. I remember her well from our infrequent visits to your home, so kind and generous and so much younger than my parents. She did have a lovely laugh, which will stay with you always.

Dear Cathy, Rob, Ian and families,
Bernard and I send our heartfelt condolences to you all. Your mom lived a good life and was so fortunate to have her loving children care for her and accompany her to the end. I remember her well from my family’s infrequent visits to your house. She was kind and so young compared to my parents. It’s true she had a lovely laugh, which you can carry with you forever.
