It is with great sadness that we announce that Adela De Souza passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 18, 2023, surrounded by family at Ian Anderson House in Oakville, after a long-fought battle with cancer.

Beloved Wife of Elifio for 60 years, loving mother to Linus and Sharon (Rob). Predeceased by her parents, Balthazar and Ophelia Gomes, grandson William Pelkey, and brother-in-law, Denis De Souza. Survived by her brothers, Percy, Silvano (Dolores), and Amery, brother-in-law, Malachy De Souza, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Adela loved us all so deeply and unconditionally. She will always be remembered for her genuine and caring soul, her purity of heart, her love of family, and for living out her faith in her kind words and generous acts of love. A woman of deep strength and courage who showed us all what true love really is, she will be missed but her memory will live on in our hearts always.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Benjamin and the wonderful staff and volunteers at Ian Anderson House who provided Adela with the utmost care and compassion in her final days. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Eiriksson and the Oncology team at the Juravinski Cancer Centre for their support and compassion over the years. Finally, thank you to Dr. Gupta and Dr. Patel on the Credit Valley Palliative team.

Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter Peel Chapel on Thursday, December 21, 2023, between 2-4 and 7-9 pm.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 2340 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 9:30 am with a reception to follow.

Cremation and a private family Interment at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Mississauga will be held at a later date.
