After 100 amazing years, Virginia (Gini) passed away on January 11, 2026. Gini was a cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Gini was born in Lewisville, New Brunswick and always identified herself as a “Maritimer”. She moved with her husband Arthur to Toronto in 1950 and raised her family of 4 children in Toronto.

Over the years, she was involved with her many grandchildren on “sleepovers” and camping trips. In the last few years, she had the remarkable experience of meeting her great grandchildren. Gini came alive and energized around her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she loved them deeply.

Gini had a deep faith in Jesus Christ and she put this faith into action by serving in many churches over her lifetime. This was an important part of her life. In her passing, we celebrate that she is with her Lord.

Over the last 7 years, Gini resided at the Village of Erin Meadows Retirement home. She was so well taken care of there. It was clear that so many of the workers there were inspired by her positive spirit. Gini was not just a “client” to them - they deeply loved her in the care they provided. Our family is so grateful for their loving care of Gini. At her recent 100th birthday party, the workers sang and danced for Gini, hugged her and helped her celebrate this important milestone. Their efforts at this event are so appreciated, it was a great event that Gini thoroughly enjoyed.

Virginia was predeceased by her husband Arthur. She is survived by her four children, Linda (Michael), David (Jane), Douglas (Coral-ann) and Ross (Beth).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scott Mission. Virginia and her husband Arthur were involved with the Scott Mission many years ago, and it was a charity close to their hearts.
