It is with deep love that we announce the passing of Victoria Smith, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and advocate whose warmth, energy, and generosity shaped all who knew her.
For 42 years, she was the beloved wife of Craig. Together they raised Alexa and Jamie, and warmly welcomed their spouses, Ian and Adriana, into the family. They built a rich life filled with travel, friendship, and adventure. Their happiest moments were often at Kennisis Lake, watching sunsets on the perches, snowshoeing through the woods, and gathering around the dinner table with friends and family.
Vicki was proud to be the eldest of five siblings. She always said being a member of her family was her greatest gift. She will be deeply missed by them, as well as by her many nieces and nephews. Her greatest joy was being “Nanny” to Nico, Brodie, Miles, and William, who were her dream come true and in whom her legacy lives on.
Victoria was a trailblazing lawyer, mediator, teacher, and visionary. She helped transform the practice of family law, believing it could be more humane, more thoughtful, and grounded in dignity. A passionate advocate for change, she championed the idea that divorce need not be acrimonious. An electric and inspiring trainer, her energy was contagious; she influenced generations of lawyers to lead with empathy, courage, and purpose.
Vicki lived - in all senses of the word- with remarkable zest, joy and contagious energy. She was a light, rare in her unwavering belief in people, her lack of judgment, and her ability to meet others exactly where they were. Time with her, whether in conversation or on a walk, left you clearer, lighter, and seen.
She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, energy, and meaningful change—in her profession, her community, and her family.
