On May 9, 2025, Veronica Amza Ross (née McGregor), age 90, passed away peacefully at home in Mississauga, Ontario, embraced by the love of her Lord.

Veronica was a cherished and devoted mother to Claudia (Sylvester), Akilah (Khalid), Glen (Marsha), Veronica (Jackie), Vera (Marty), and Edward.

Born in St. Thomas, Jamaica, Veronica pursued her calling in nursing, earning her qualifications in England. She later settled in Hamilton, Ontario, with her husband Glen Ross who predeceased her. She served the Greater Toronto and Hamilton communities as a dedicated nurse for over four decades.

Veronica was a loving grandmother to Valentina, Veronica, Olivia, Omari, Usama, Asiyah, Ali, Brittney, Simone, Glen, Joshua, Jahsia, Sierra, Zoe (Babar), Antonios, Miles, Athena, Jaidon, Isis-Tiara, and Trinity. Her joy only grew with the next generation, as she became a doting great grandmother affectionately known as G.G.-ma to Angelina, Mya, Indigo, Reign, and Journey.

She leaves behind three sisters Velveeta, Palsey, and Thelma and (or along with) many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.

Veronica’s life was a testament to love, faith, laughter, forgiveness, and resilience. Her presence touched many and left an enduring legacy.
