It is with great sadness that the family of Thelma May Dunn announce her passing on Wednesday November 19, 2025, at Wellbrook Place Long Term Care Home, in Mississauga, at the age of 94 years young. Cherished Grandmother of Malinda and her husband Stephen, Christopher and his partner Michelle, Paul (predeceased), April and her partner Brian, Wanda and her husband Shawn, Jeffery and his wife Carrie, Don and his wife Melissa, Joshua and his partner Debra, Cheyanne, Nita and her partner Joel, Jonathan and his partner Jessie. Loved Great Grandmother of Ianna and her husband Abdel, Elisa, Anthony, Sean, Christopher, Madelynn, Michael, Meghan, Maguire, Charlee, Tim, Avery, Jonah, Hannah, Maiyah, Mycah and Luca. Thelma is predeceased by her brother Robert and former spouse, John.
Thelma loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them at gatherings and outings, Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving or Halloween, were all celebrations she enjoyed immensely which often included a chilled glass of white wine. Her daughter’s cottage was a special place for her where she would place a lawn chair at the water’s edge and feel the warmth of the sand and sun. Thelma was generous with her time and always ready to lend a helping hand whatever the circumstance. Elvis and Country Music would have her singing and dancing. As a member of the Women’s Auxiliary for the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans Lakeview Unit, she volunteered in the kitchen for various events and was an enthusiastic dart player. As a resident of Wellbrook Place, where she was famously known for saying “Okie Dokie Smokey”, Thelma loved to play cards when her family visited and was always ready to join in any organized activities or events such as arts, crafts, choir and her favorite activity was bingo where she would often win. Thelma’s choice of prize was always Lays potato chips, or a stuffie like her white teddy bear with the green ribbon.
Thelma, Mom, Nanny, and Great Grandma will be greatly missed, never forgotten and will be forever in our hearts and prayers.
For those who wish, donations in memory of Thelma to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
