Stjepan and Ankica Risek, Devoted Couple

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of both Stjepan and Ankica Risek, just two days apart in Mississauga, Ontario. Stjepan, 80, passed away on March 2, 2025 and Ankica, 77 followed him on March 4, 2025. Together they shared 56 years of love, joy and devotion.

Stjepan (aka Steve, Pepek, Stevo) was born on May 21, 1944 in Sodolovci, Croatia.

Ankica (aka Ann) was born on July 25, 1947 in Velika, Croatia

When they were younger Stjepan followed Ankica to France where they married. They eventually moved to Canada where they established their roots in Mississauga and became part of a strong Croatian community of family and friends.

Stjepan was a taper for over 40 years and Ankica a loving and nurturing stay-at-home mom. They both lived their lives to the fullest, always working so hard for their family. Their later years were spent enjoying shared hobbies; bowling, tending to their beautiful garden, cooking, and completing projects around the house. Stjepan in particular enjoyed watching soccer with friends, and cheering on his grandsons at hockey games.

They leave behind their two children, Zeljko (Nefta) and Rob (Janine) and their four grandsons Milan, Ivan, Matej and Maksim.

Stjepan and Ankica’s love and commitment was everlasting and their memory will live on in the hearts of their family and friends. They will be remembered for the positive impact they had on the lives of those who knew them, and will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
