It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Sheila Gaikwad at Etobicoke General Hospital on May 6th, 2025.

Sheila was born in Nasik, India and immigrated to Canada in 1972. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Toronto General Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital for over 30 years.

Sheila was an extremely loving, warm-hearted, and generous woman. She was a dedicated Registered Nurse who loved caring for others. She was also known to show love through food and was an amazing cook. Her impact and love will never be forgotten and will live on in the lives she has touched.

Her strength and bravery carried her through life's challenges after retirement. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Anil Gaikwad in 2022.

Sheila's legacy lives on through her daughter Anita.

Anita extends her deepest gratitude to the dedicated caregivers who brought joy to her mom everyday and whose support allowed her mom to maintain her independence.

Sheila will be deeply missed by those that knew and cared for her.

Funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Bloor St. (227 Bloor Street E.) on Friday, June 6th. Viewing will be at 10 a.m., followed by service at 11 a.m., and reception at 12 p.m. Interment will be at Park Lawn Cemetery (2845 Bloor Street W.) later that afternoon.
