It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pia Donisi, who departed peacefully with her loving family by her side on January 21, 2026.
Pia was the beloved wife of the late Beniamino Donisi, and a devoted and loving mother to Luigi and Anna, and her husband John Mancini. She was a cherished Nonna to her grandchildren Melissa (Michael), Kristen (Joe), Jessica (Jonathan), and Alexander, and the most treasured Bisnonna to her great-grandchildren Dominic, Angelo, Walker, and Wyatt.
She is survived by her dear sister Antonina (the late Luciano), her sister-in-law Colomba, predeceased by her brothers Rolando and Eligio (Eulena). Pia was also surrounded by the affection of her much-loved nieces and nephews—each one a treasured thread in the rich tapestry of her life.
Ninety-two years of grace began in Celano, Italy, where mountains hold memory and stone remembers every footstep. Pia and Beniamino began their life together in Naples, Italy, where they built the foundation of their marriage before courageously immigrating to Canada, continuing to build a better life rooted in hard work, faith, and family.
Throughout her life, Pia witnessed immense change and endured many hardships—the greatest being the loss of her husband at the young age of 42. Through unwavering faith and extraordinary determination, she overcame every challenge with quiet strength and dignity.
A devout Catholic, Pia immersed herself fully in her faith community at St. Catherine of Siena Church, where she was a dedicated member of the choir and committed her life to service, prayer, and devotion. Her faith guided her daily life and sustained her through every season, shaping the strength, compassion, and humility she passed on to her family.
Pia took great pride in cooking and baking for her family and friends, expressing her love through every meal she prepared. Her passion for cultivating a beautiful garden—once the envy of the neighbourhood— reflected the way she nurtured not only her flowers, but everyone around her, leaving behind a legacy of beauty, generosity, and love that will continue to bloom in the hearts of all who knew her.
We find peace knowing she has been reunited with her beloved family and friends, and is now home with the Lord, finally at rest.
Pia will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
