It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear husband/ father/ father-in-law/ grandfather Nikola Boljkovac, on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga.
Nikola was born December 1, 1933 in Vukova Gorica, Croatia. He immigrated to Canada in 1957, where he met and married his wife Marica in Timmins, Ontario in 1959. A year later, they welcomed their son Emil. Together they moved to Toronto in 1963, where their daughter Lydia was born. Nikola was always proud of his Croatian roots being one of the founding members of the Karlovac Club and an active member of the Streetsville Croatian Church and Park. Nikola and his wife built a successful jewellery manufacturing business - Nicmar.
He enjoyed socializing, playing bocce and cards with his many friends, fishing, boating, cottaging and travelling with his family, especially to the Caribbean and back home to Croatia. Nikola was also an enthusiastic supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs as well as the HNS Croatian National and the Split Hajduk Soccer Teams.
Nikola is survived by his wife Marica together with whom he built a loving family. Nikola is the dearest father of Emil (Sandra) and Lydia (Shawn).
He is the very proud grandfather of Téa, Jason, Nicholas and Tomislav. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Credit Valley Hospital who cared for him during his last week.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Cardiology Wing of Credit Valley Hospital in Nikola’s memory.
