Miroslav Gotsko passed away peacefully on March 30th, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 67 years old.
He is dearly remembered by his wife, Lesya; his daughter, Solomiya (Karl) and their son, Adrian; his son, Oleksandr (Jane); and his sister, Zenovia.
Born in Lviv, Ukraine, Miroslav was a man defined by resilience, intelligence, and unwavering dedication to his family.
From a young age, he excelled academically and pursued studies in mechanical engineering, an accomplishment he carried with great pride. He developed a sharp, analytical mind that guided him throughout his life.
In 1985, he met the love of his life, Lesya, and together they built a life rooted in love and partnership, welcoming their daughter Solomiya and son Oleksandr. His family was always at the center of everything he did.
At the age of 34, Miroslav immigrated to Canada in search of a better future, where he built a life through hard work, determination, and perseverance.
Miroslav took great pride in his work, building his career as an engineer and dedicating many years to Royal Machining. He was known for his skill, precision, and strong work ethic, approaching everything with focus and discipline, often balancing his profession with personal projects.
Miroslav also knew how to truly enjoy life. He had a deep love for travel and took great joy in exploring the world. Some of his favourite destinations included southern Italy, Portugal, Paris, the Azores, and Madeira. He was always dreaming of discovering new places and experiencing more of the beauty the world had to offer.
He had a special appreciation for wine, taking pride in collecting it and, more importantly, sharing it with those he loved. Many moments around the table were made more meaningful through good conversation and a carefully chosen bottle.
Miroslav loved being active and outdoors. In the warmer months, he and Lesya would spend weekends cycling through Niagara-on-the-Lake, a place he truly enjoyed. He also had a passion for gardening and took great pride in the fruits of his labour, tending to his garden with care and satisfaction.
He carried a sense of curiosity and a love for life that stayed with him always. He even dreamed of one day sailing across the Pacific Ocean, an ambitious dream that reflected his adventurous spirit and the way he always looked toward what more life could offer.
Miroslav was deeply proud of his Ukrainian roots and carried that pride with him throughout his life. He often reminded us, “There is no tree without roots.” He believed strongly in staying connected to where you come from and worked to pass that same sense of identity, pride, and belonging on to his children. Through him, his heritage lives on.
Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His family was his greatest love and his proudest accomplishment.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Tato,
Thank you for everything. Your strength, your sacrifices, and your love have shaped who we are today. We will carry your lessons, your values, and your love with us for the rest of our lives.
We are so proud of you. We love you always.
