Matthew (Mátyás) Jacso rejoined his family on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. Being the youngest of 7 children, he reached the age of 90 a month of go, and decided it was time to go. He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Maria Jacso (nee: Vamos) and his daughter, Maria C Jacso. He is also survived by 6 nieces and nephews between Canada and Hungary.
Matthew immigrated to Canada in 1957 after partaking in the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. After working a number of jobs, he landed at Dare Foods Ltd. in Kitchener and remained there till his retirement in 1996. Matthew will be remembered as a kind hearted, gentle, angelic soul. He loved to sing and dance and always enjoyed a lively get-together. He always had a compliment for anyone he met. He will also be remembered for his relentless belief in the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Matthew was most proud of his daughter and her work within the Hungarian community and Kossuth Folk dancers. With this is mind, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Kossuth Hall info@kossuthclub.ca or to the Kossuth Folk Dancers kossuthfolkdancers@outlook.com
would be appreciated. Matthew has chosen to be cremated and will be returned to Mezőkövesd, Hungary (his place of birth) and reunited with his family.
