It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mary Joan Lee, who departed this life on July 10, 2025 at the age of 92.

Joan lived a busy and active life as mother of seven; Debbie (Murray), Janice (Garry), Cathy (Chuck), Jim (Marilyn), Becky (Ray), Laura and Michael (Gail); Grandmother to seventeen and Great Grandmother to 20.
She was predeceased by her husband, Murray Lee, her parents Mae Peaker and John Creary and her brothers Bert Creary, Jim Creary, Ron Revelle and her son-in-law Murray Davis. She leaves behind her sister-in-law Joan Creary and her family.

She trained as a registered nurse assistant before having children. She loved children, volunteering as a lunch room supervisor before going back to college. She graduated with her Teaching Assistant diploma at the age of 63. She worked full time until she retired at 65.

Mom loved to play bridge and euchre and had joined in many groups and spent one semester teaching bridge at a local community college. She loved to be part of family gatherings, dancing and playing the spoons. Her children bought her tap shoes for her 50th birthday and she entertained everyone. Her cottage was her happy place and spent many of her summers there.

Joan touched everyone she met with her kindness, humor, and resilient spirit. Her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but we take comfort in knowing she is reunited with loved ones who went before her.

Our family would like to extend our gratitude to Dr Huang and the staff and caregivers at Cawthra Gardens, (Willow Way Unit). They provided extraordinary care and compassion while caring for our mother while she resided there.

Funeral will be held at Turner and Porter Peel Chapel – 2180 Hurontario St, Mississauga on Monday, July 14, 2025. Visitation is between 2-3 p.m. with service to follow at 3 p.m. .
