Mark Alfred Bargent passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Dorothy Ley Hospice on February 11, 2026. He was, and continues to be, surrounded by the love of his family.
Mark’s wife, Irma, passed in 2014 and he never stopped loving her. He was also predeceased by his dear sister Dorothy Cobban (Jack) in 1987.
He will be deeply missed by his devoted daughter Lynn Bishop (Dave), and his son Len Bargent (Jan). His loss will also be grieved by his grandchildren: Heidi McGinty (Kevin); the triplets Jordan (Paul Huterer), Ashley (Scott Shingler) and Morgan Bargent, as well as his Great-grandchildren AJ and Christopher McGinty.
Mark was born in Toronto and was a very proud Canadian.
Mark spent six years at Grenadier Residence and the family would like to thank the staff there, for their care and kindness.
He will be remembered by everyone whose life he touched with his steadfast presence and his endearing sense of humour. A talented photographer, he was active member of the Etobicoke Camera Club (including The Old Boys Club) for many years. Mark loved nature photography most of all.
Although Mark did not believe fully in an afterlife, he was open to the possibility of seeing his loved ones again. His family hopes that he is now joyfully reunited with Irma; his Mom and Dad; his sister; other friends and family members; as well as the many pets that he loved, including his favourite, husky Sheba.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 18th from 1:00 to 4:00pm at the Turner & Porter, Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. West, Toronto.
In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations to Dorothy Ley Hospice.
