It is with much sadness that we announce that our loving mother Lesia suddenly but peacefully passed away on Monday January 26, 2026 at Champlain Manor in Orillia, Ontario in her 92nd year.

Wife of (predeceased) Wolodymyr for 56 years, sister of Bohdan Chachula (and his wife Dolores), and sister of the late Vera Lukacziw-Chachula (and her husband Ivan). Beloved mother of Alex, Orest (Bozena), and Myroslava (Hilary). Baba of grandchildren Mark, Matthew, Hilary-Luke, Christian, and Remy, and great-grandmother of Brinny, Noa, Adley-Anne and Clay.

Lesia was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. She attended Ryerson Public School, King Edward Public School and Harbord Collegiate Institute. Lesia was a member of MYNO and UNF (Ukrainian National Federation) and dedicated her life to her family and children. She volunteered with several Ukrainian cultural and social services, and supported the Ukrainian Women’s Organization of Canada (OYK), and the Ukrainian Catholic Church.

Special thanks for the compassionate care she received at Champlain Manor and from the ParaMed staff in Orillia. Heartfelt thanks to the many years of dedicated care from Dr. Aaron Barnett and Dr. Amanda Gardhouse.

Lesia’s sweet soul, friendship and ability to welcome everyone will be missed.

Visitation will be at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., Toronto on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 5-8 p.m. with Panachyda at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church at 135 La Rose Avenue in Toronto on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery.
