Leonardo Barbisan, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and master craftsman, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, at the age of 88.
Born on November 6, 1937, in Paese, Italy, Leonardo was a man of immense courage and ambition. At the young age of 16, he left his home and traveled to Canada, driven by the dream of building a better life. Through decades of tireless work and dedication, he turned that dream into a reality for himself and the family he cherished.
A carpenter by trade, Leonardo was known for his extraordinary talent. He had a rare gift for working with his hands, creating countless beautiful things that will serve as a lasting legacy in the homes and lives of many. Beyond his skill with wood, he was a man of profound faith. As a devoted Catholic, he lived his life with a servant’s heart; he was the kind of man who would truly do anything for anyone in need.
Leonardo’s greatest pride was his family. He was the devoted husband of Silvana and the proud father of Peter (Lorena), Claudia, and Elizabeth. His legacy continues through his eight grandchildren—Sadie, Samuel, Isabella, Alexander, Declan, Adelina, Connor, and Ciara—who will remember him as a man who was deeply loved and universally respected.
He leaves behind a family who will forever be inspired by his hard work, his selflessness, and his enduring strength.
