In loving memory of Krystyna Zach known by most as Babcia. It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Krystyna May 9th, 2025.

Krystyna was an incredibly hard working, loving and kind woman. She was not afraid to speak her mind, and had a great sense of humour. She was a generous host, and will be remembered by her friends, family and local polish community as an amazing cook. She loved to garden, spend time outside and talk to her friends for hours on end.

Born in Poland but sent to Siberian labour camps as a child with her family. Krystyna endured many hardships in her early life. In Poland she worked as a cook at an infirmary for many years feeding the sick. She then came to Canada followed by the United States where she worked as housekeeper and cleaner, then returned to Canada where she lived and worked until the end of her days as a cook. She had an incredible work ethic and was a remarkably resilient woman. She absolutely loved her family, friends and co-workers. She will be dearly missed.
