It is with grateful hearts that we share the passing of Kazimiera Bielecki on November 4th, at the remarkable age of 101. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, after a long and joyful life.
A devoted wife to her late husband Zygmunt, who passed away in 2001, and a loving mother to sons Chris (Louise) and Raymond, Kay will continue to be cherished in memory by her grandchildren Andrea (Scott), Tom (Christine), Robert (Jessica), and Brett, and by her great-grandchildren Charlotte, Cameron, and Eloise.
Born in Parczew, Poland, she immigrated to Canada with her mother Ludwika, arriving in Port Arthur, Ontario in 1948. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Toronto, where a strong Polish community was emerging. In 1951, she married Zygmunt—a Monte Cassino veteran—after meeting him in the church choir at St. Stanislaus Polish Catholic Church.
Known affectionately as Kay, she was an energetic and determined woman who worked diligently to build a better life for her family. She held positions at several Toronto companies, including Bell and Howell and Litton Systems. Always the life of the party, Kay loved hosting friends at her home in Etobicoke, spending summers at her cottage at Cawaja Beach, and participating actively in the Polish Women’s Federation. When time permitted, she also volunteered at Etobicoke General Hospital.
At 101, Kay had truly lived a full and blessed life, one without regrets. Deeply faithful, she looked forward to being reunited with God and her loved ones who passed before her. She will be long remembered by all who loved her.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate team at Wawel Villa Seniors Residence for their exceptional care and comfort over the many years, and especially in her final days. Special appreciation is given to Ola Buchowski for the love, time, and friendship she so generously shared with “Kazia” in recent years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wawel Villa Seniors Residence in Clarkson, Ontario.
