Josip (Joseph) Tkalec
November 16, 1926 - December 27, 2025
On Saturday, December 27th, 2025, Joža passed away at the age of 99 at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Zagorje, Croatia, November 16th, 1926 to Ivan and Elizabeta Tkalec. They preceded him in death, along with all his younger brothers and sisters: Edo, Max, Mirko, Stanko, Ferdo, Ana and Kate.
He was the beloved husband of the late Katica (née Paulić), the adored father to Nely Urac (Josip) and to the late Stanley. Grandfather to Nelly Edgson (Steve) and great- grandfather to Emily and Kody. Uncle too many nieces and nephews.
Around age 14, he became a tailor’s apprentice and went on to be a professional tailor. In Canada, he had his own business in both Toronto and Barrie.
He will truly be missed by all.
