Saying goodbye to someone we love is never easy. With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Ilidio Simoes of Mississauga, Ontario. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, Ilidio was welcomed into the arms of his Saviour, Jesus Christ, on December 17, 2025, at the age of 94.

Ilidio’s life was a beautiful example of devotion, kindness, and faith. He is now joyfully reunited with his cherished wife, Maria Jose Simoes, with whom he shared a lifetime of love. He will forever be remembered as a gentle and caring father to John Simoes (Hanne) and Sandra Simoes (Gary); a proud and loving grandfather to Stephanie Simoes (Igor) and Paul Simoes (Jacklin); and a deeply adored great-grandfather to little Iyla Simoes. To his extended family and friends, Ilidio was a source of warmth, wisdom, and unwavering friendship.

The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to those who lovingly cared for Ilidio over the years: Betsy, Margaret, Jaztine, Honorata, Romana, and Rose. Your compassion and dedication brought comfort and peace to him and to us all.

Visitation will be held on Sunday December 28th, 2025, 7 – 9pm, Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario, Mississauga.

Ilidio’s Celebration of life will follow on December 29th, 2025, 1pm at Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario, Mississauga, with live-streaming available for those who cannot attend (Link will be added closer to service).
