In Celebration of
Helen Wen-Yuh Hou
April 29, 1946 - July 19, 2024
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Helen Wen-Yuh Hou on Friday, July 19, 2024 at the age of 78.
Born in Wuhan China, Helen (nee Ko) moved as a baby with her family to Taiwan. She graduated at the top of her class from Taipei First Girl Highschool and received an honoured degree from the Department of Agronomy, National Tawain University. After working for a short period at a data communication centre, she moved to the United States to pursue her masters’ degree at Western Kentucky University. From Kentucky she moved to San Fransisco before immigrating to Toronto where she worked at the Toronto District School Board in IT. After sponsoring her parents and brothers to Canada, she met her husband, Han-Kao Hou in 1980. They married on June 19, 1981, and welcomed their daughter, Karen in October 1982.
Helen had a passion for life and unending curiosity, always trying and exploring new things. In her retirement, Helen travelled often with her husband and enjoyed messaging with her old and new friends. Over the last few years, Helen found a renewed fervor for agriculture, nurturing her garden and caring for her vegetables, plants and flowers.
Helen loved deeply and always wanted to help others, in her way. Her family, parents, siblings, nephew and nieces, extended family and friends were always on her mind and in her heart.
Much loved daughter of the late Fu-Ming Ko and Tsai-Chi Liu. Dear sister of the late Wen-Chin, Wen-Meng, Wen-Yuan, and Wen-Kuang. Helen was cherished by her husband Han-Kao Hou and daughter Karen.
Family will receive friends at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St W., Etobicoke on Wednesday, July 31 from 6-9 p.m.

我們懷著深切的悲痛告訴大家，葛文郁於 2024 年 7 月 19 日星期五晚上突然病逝，享年 78 歲。
葛文郁出生於中國湖北省武漢市，嬰兒時期隨家人移居臺灣。小學就讀臺北市女師附小，初中就讀臺北市建國中學中和分校，她成績優良，畢業後直升臺北市第一女子高級中學。後以全校第一名的成績畢業。大學是在國立臺灣大學農藝系獲得榮譽學位。畢業後在中華民國資料通訊社短暫工作後，她赴美國繼續深造，在西肯塔基大學攻讀碩士學位。之後她從肯塔基州遷到了舊金山市，1973移民到加拿大，定居多倫多，並任職於多倫多市教育局 IT 部門工作直到退休。她在幫父母和兄弟姊妹移民到加拿大後，在1980遇見了侯漢皋先生。一年後1981 年六月，她和侯漢皋先生結為夫妻，並於次年十月迎來了他們的女兒侯凱倫。
葛文郁對生活充滿熱情和有無盡的好奇心，總是嘗試和探索新事物。退休後，葛文郁經常與丈夫一起旅行，並喜歡與新老朋友交流。在過去的幾年裡，葛文郁重新燃起了對農業的熱情，培育她的花園並照顧她的蔬菜、植物和花卉。
葛文郁對人熱情，並且總是想以她的方式幫助別人。她對家人、父母、兄弟姐妹、侄子侄女和朋友總是放在她的腦海和心裡。
葛文郁是她爸爸和媽媽備受寵愛的女兒。也是葛文清、葛文孟、葛文苑、葛文光的親愛的姊妹。在家，葛文郁更深受丈夫侯漢皋和女兒凱倫的寵愛。
葛文郁的家人安排於 7 月 31 日星期三下午 6 點至 9 點在位於 2357 Bloor St W., Etobicoke 的 Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel 接受親朋好友為她送別。
