Gino Golin, 92, born on November 30, 1933, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Italy where he honed his handyman skills as a cooper, wheelwright and blacksmith in the family business.
He was the beloved son of the late Pietro and Maria Golin, devoted husband of Delfina Golin, cherished father of Giuliano (Pauline) and Mauro (Jennifer), the proud grandfather of Adam, Alyssa, Matteo, and Rowan.
Gino was predeceased by his siblings Anna, Sante, Erselia, and Rienna, and is survived by his brother Riccardo.
Gino’s life was a story of courage, dedication, and love. Embarking on a journey from Italy to Canada at a young age, he found employment at Canada Brick where he built a new life grounded in hard work, family, and community. After asking his future wife to join him in Canada, Gino started a family. He took great pride in his work, home and future he created through perseverance and hope.
A man of many talents and endless curiosity, Gino was happiest with a hammer or saw in his palms, soil on his hands or savouring a home cooked meal. He enjoyed home renovation projects of any size, his garden flourished under his care, and his family fondly remembers him as an “amateur home food scientist,” always looking forward to the next family gathering and sharing the fruits of his labor. Whether repairing, building, or simply tinkering, Gino’s hands were rarely still. His passion for craftsmanship and creativity left lasting marks on everything he touched.
Above all, Gino will be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, sense of humour and unwavering devotion to his family. His warmth and generous spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
In memory of Gino, donations may be made to St. Joseph Parish. Please ensure to mention in additonal information the donation is in honour of Gino Golin.
