With sad hearts we convey to all who knew him, that Georg Heubeck, 90, of Mississauga, died March 9th, 2025 and will be deeply missed by his wife, children, their spouses and children, surviving relatives, friends and congregation members.
Pop was born on February 7th, 1935 the second child of Johann and Anna Heubeck in Ebingen, Germany. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Rita and younger brother Sieger in Germany.
At age 21, Georg came to Canada followed by his bride, Thusnelde(Tess) in 1956 with just $5 in his pocket. The two married on December 6, 1956 and both soon found jobs and worked hard to be able to raise their children in Canada.
The young couple resided in Toronto till their first two children came along, Christine Kuzenko(Wallie), and Oliver(MaryAnne). Pop partnered to open Ingeborg Shoes in 1964 and they moved to Etobicoke soon after. In 1967 Georg went off on his own with his store on Roncesvalles Ave in Toronto, renamed European Shoe Boutique. The couple welcomed their third child Robert(Tara) and in 1971 moved to Mississauga where they reside to this day.
Pop retired in 2001 from the shoe business and spent his retirement wintering in Florida and travelling to see family in Germany. He enjoyed family time, walking at the mall, golfing, going to church and meeting with his Oldtimers group at Tim Hortons 3 times a week pre covid.
Over the years the family welcomed 6 grandchildren; Stefani Galea (Tyler) and Zackery Kuzenko; Samantha Lewis, Jacob, and Kaitlin Heubeck and in 2017 Shy Heubeck. In 2014, Oliver’s step-daughter Alexandra Wilson joined the family. Georg and Tess also welcomed their great- grandchild Avery Galea on January 3rd, 2025.
We love you Pop, Opa, Menne, Schorsch, Georg and can still hear you playing your harmonica from Heaven and singing your favorite hymns and Christmas carols!
