It is with heartfelt sadness and a deep sense of loss that we announce the sudden passing of Erich Robert Josef Roissl on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, while enjoying a wonderful vacation in Vienna, Austria, with his beloved family and relatives.

Born on October 27, 1940, in Vienna, Austria, Erich immigrated to Canada in 1966 with his devoted wife Theresia (Tessy) and their two sons, Alfred and Erich.

Erich was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Tessy. He was a loving father to Alfred (Sandra) and Erich (Frances), and a proud Opa to Alexis, Bretten (Laila), Melissa (Minor), Christopher, Ethan and Connor. Forever remembered by his companion, Nora, who will miss him dearly.

Erich dedicated over 30 years of his professional life as a Sales Associate at Eaton’s, retiring in 1999. He continued to share his warm and engaging personality with customers for another decade at Sears.

In retirement, Erich cherished his annual vacations in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and Vienna, Austria. He especially loved spending time at his cottage at Woodland Beach, where he could often be found enjoying a glass of his favorite wine Grüner Veltliner.

Erich will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His kindness, sense of humor, and warm heart will live on in the memories of those whose lives he touched.

Visitation will be held on Monday July 14, 2025 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West Toronto, ON M6S 1P4. The Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday July 15, 2025 at 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish 3055 Bloor Street West Etobicoke. A Private Interment Park Lawn Cemetery.
