We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Emily Conforzi at the amazing age of 95. Beloved Mother of Donna (Mike), Albert (Janet). Pre-deceased by her cherished Husband Sam Conforzi (1986). Devoted Grandmother to Valerie, Nicole (Andrew), Michelle (Matt). Bonus Grandma to Amber (Jeff) and Katrina. Loving Great-Grandma to Rowan, Levi, Amelia, Sullivan, Bobby & Eloise. Pre-deceased by her parents Luigi Alati and Speranza DiCosmo, and siblings Tina, Mary and Frank and daughter-in law Pat. Emily is survived by her Sister Phyllis Wright and Sister-in-law Mary Louise Alati.

Emily lived a long, blessed life surrounded by love of family and friends. She was born in Sora, Italy and emigrated to Toronto via Halifax with her parents and older sister Tina. Mom held her Italian traditions dear but was quick to embrace her new home in Canada. Mom met her future Husband Sam in 1949 when he came to tune her piano. She had a beautiful singing voice and joined the Rossellini Light Opera Company and sang in productions of La Traviata and Cavalleria Rusticana. Emily and Sam were married in 1950 and eventually welcomed Donna and Albert to their family.

Throughout the years the family enjoyed cottage life, trips to the exhibition and Royal Winter Fair, Grey Cup and Santa Claus parades. The family shared warmth and love with each other and everyone they knew.

Emily was a beacon of warmth, love and generosity to everyone who knew her. She was an amazing judge of character and possessed something rare: common sense. Her eggplant parmigiana, tomato sauce and stuffed shells were legendary. She will be truly missed. We may have lost our Mother and friend, but heaven gained a new angel.

Funeral arrangements have been made at Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga. Visitation on Friday, December 5 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Funeral Service to be held in the Chapel on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 11 am. Internment at Mount Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in Emily’s name.
