Doreen Hutchison, 93 of Etobicoke, ON passed away on June 17th, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. Doreen was preceded in death by Donald Hutchison, her beloved husband of 57 years who passed on in 2013 and her mother and father Allan and Margaret Stirling. Loving Mother to Gayle Stewart (Alex) Julia Hutchison (Muriel Turcan) and Carol Hutchison. Proud Nana to Andrew and Eryn Stewart and Blair Hutchison. Loved by extended family, Jennifer and Andrew Lawson and children Alexander and Isla and Stephen and Sandi Stewart and daughter Aurellia.

Mum will be remembered for her intelligence, wit and zest for life. She had a real love for travel that began in her early twenties, enjoying memorable trips to NYC, Chicago, Muskoka and the Laurentians with close girlfriends. She loved dancing to the big bands of the era.

Mum had an incredible work ethic. She worked for many years for senior executives and also dedicated 12 years to staying home to raise her children. She had a talent for writing and enjoyed contributing a weekly column to the local Etobicoke Guardian newspaper. Mum retired at the age of 62 to make more time for fun!

Mum and Dad enjoyed spending many winters in Florida and met lifelong friends. They also enjoyed many trips to Europe, the Caribbean and saw Canada coast to coast.

Mum enjoyed writing, live theatre, bridge and euchre. However, most of all cherished time with family and friends, some friendships dating back to public school. Known for her wisdom and youthful spirit, she leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Friends may call at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. West on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025 from 2pm-3pm. The Service of Remembrance will be held at 3pm, same day, with a reception to follow.
