In Celebration of

Donna Brooks

November 4, 1935 - May 28, 2025

It is with sadness that we say goodbye to our mother, Donna Marion Brooks (Tait), who passed away peacefully at Mississauga Hospital on May 28, 2025. Donna was 89 years old, she was born on November 4, 1935 and spent her early years in Windsor, Ontario, and lived most of her life in Mississauga. She was married to husband Alfred Brooks and is survived by Alfred, her sons Al (Serena), Ian (Lisa), and Grant (Carol), and granddaughters Elizabeth, Megan, Amanda, Danielle, Nicole, and grandsons Alfred and Gabriel.

Our mother was a fun, dynamic, and intelligent woman who navigated the world with grace. Her accomplishments include earning her RN and practicing as a nurse for many years. She was an entrepreneur at heart and ran her own successful business, Donna Brooks Homeminders Service for over 20 years. She raised her 3 boys on Gatehouse Drive in Mississauga and was a Conservation Officer, helping to oversee the establishment of the Rattray Marsh Conservation Authority and ensuring the marsh’s continued preservation. She spent over 3 decades as a member of the Loraine Club, and loved the many trips she took to Georgian Bay and “The Fishing Camp” to spend time with her family and enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings.

In more recent years she enjoyed their home in the country near Tottenham, Ontario, and time spent with her husband and the other residents and staff at their condo at Parkland on the Glen in Erin Mills. Our mother was a very present and loving wife and family matriarch, and had a positive impact on many people in her life. We will miss her deeply.

A family only service will be held at Turner and Porter Funeral  Home. In memory of Donna, donation can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
