With heavy hearts, we said goodbye to Don on December 2, 2025, at the tender age of 94.
Predeceased by Gladys, his loving wife of 70-years; lovingly remembered by his children, Linda, Laura (Grant), and Eric; his grandchildren Jennifer and Edward (Claudia); his great-grandsons, Jacob and Jesse.
Don was born and raised in Toronto, the youngest of six children. He was a driver with the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) for 30-years, from both the Roncesvalles and Queensway Divisions. Following retirement, Don and Gladys moved to Hanover where he continued to drive a school bus and work seasonally at Zellers.
He enjoyed golf; woodworking/carpentry; puzzles; scratch tickets; loved animals; was a perfectionist with the lawn; coached baseball; was a Bluejays fan.
He was a quiet man with a dry sense of humour.
He will be fondly remembered for his generous nature and strong work ethic, giving of himself, helping in any way he could. He will be greatly missed by those that knew him and those that love him.
The family will receive friends at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Service to be held in the Chapel on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception. Cremation to follow with a private interment.
