Sadly, our beloved MOM, Diamantina Da Ponte Rodrigues, 95 years old, passed away on February 8, 2025, surrounded by family.

MOM was born on March 01, 1929 to Antonia Moniz and Antonio da Ponte in the island of Azores (Arrifes, Ponta Delgada), Portugal. After her wedding, she moved to Lisbon and in 1972 to Canada.

MOM is joined in Heaven by her mother, father, sister, our FATHER Manuel Raposo Rodrigues along with many other loved ones throughout her life.

MOM’s most significant accomplishments were raising her four children, Lucilia Rodrigues, Isabel Pinto, Victoria Morgado and Joe Rodrigues, amidst the challenges life brought her way.

MOM always supported her family by looking after all her grandchildren, Vickie, Crystal, Joey, Diana, Michelle, and Danielle.

MOM loved all her fourteen greatgrandchildren, Alex, Victoria, Dustin, Tyler, Carter, Bella, Nathan, Zoe, Kingston, Sierra, Shea, Soleil, Jordan, Christian and spent some of their early years enjoying their birthdays and special events. Her extended family was dear to her heart and she was grateful for the support provided.

MOM’s legacy is one of kindness, resilience, and generosity. She was a fighter throughout all her life, including health issues which she fought to the end and was able to survive all challenges that came her way for almost a century.

MOM’s loss is and will be felt by her immense family and all those who knew and loved her. Her memory will continue to live in the heart of those whose lives she touched.
