In Celebration of

Charles Polito

September 11, 1935 - January 23, 2026

Charles Anthony Polito passed peacefully on January 23, 2026, at Mississauga Trillium Hospital.
He was predeceased by his sister Eleanor and her husband Peter Marino, and by his brother-in-law Ted Warzek and sister-in-law Olga Warzek.

Charles will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Christina, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage, and his three children: Mike, Cathy Szeli, and Terry (John) Kemp. He was a proud grandfather to Sam, Summer, and Jamie, and a cherished great-grandfather to Kai, Slade, and Avery.

He is also survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Gladys Gralek; his nephew Jeff Gralek (Sheyda) and niece Andrea Gralek; and nephews Jeff Warzek, Barry Warzek, and Ron Warzek (Ursula).

Charles is also fondly remembered by members of his wedding party and lifelong friends: Vera Jarosz, Alice Wikaruk, Sophie Telewiak, and Marty and Joe Cardarelli, whose friendships remained meaningful throughout his life.

Charles enjoyed a long and varied career, holding positions at Brunswick, De Havilland Canada, and later retiring from Rubbermaid Canada. Not one to slow down, he continued working at the Hertz Airport location, where he enjoyed staying active and meeting people.

A lifelong aviation enthusiast, Charles earned his pilot’s license at just 17 years old while working at the Toronto Island Airport, reflecting his drive, curiosity, and love of flight.

An avid Toronto Blue Jays fan, Charles also loved writing poetry. He especially treasured his fishing trips with Rick Gralek and Henry Poulie, times that brought him great joy and lasting memories.

A private service will be held and will include immediate family and a few close friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in his memory.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
