In Celebration of

Charles Donald Brooks

October 28, 1932 - November 5, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Donald Brooks on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at the age of 93. Predeceased by his childhood sweetheart and wife Mary Lou and his sister Pauline, Don is survived by his children Pamela (Nigel) and Timothy (Shelley), three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Don was born and raised in Copper Cliff, Ontario. He graduated from RMC Kingston in 1956 and from Queen’s University in 1957 with a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering. He went on to pursue a career in residential and commercial real estate development in the greater Toronto area and Ottawa, and later in Washington D.C. and Florida.

Don was an avid reader, watercolour artist, woodworker, general jack of all trades, loved puzzles and he enjoyed a life-long interest in stamp collecting. Don will be remembered by his grandchildren for his many entertaining stories and his favourite “cowboy” songs.

The family will celebrate Don’s life privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ian Anderson House (Hospice) in Oakville, Ontario.
