Carmen Scaglione, known to many as “The Car-Man,” took his final drive on April 4th, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy that will never be forgotten.
There weren’t many people like Carmen—the kind of man who could light up a room the moment he entered. His charisma, energy and humor left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Whether you knew him for decades or just a few minutes, he had a way of uncovering your whole life story and remembering every detail most people overlook.
"Car-Man" wasn’t just a name, it was a calling. For four decades as one of the finest car salesmen you could ever meet, he dedicated himself to his team and customers, building relationships that lasted a lifetime. He lifted up everyone around him with his generosity and his magnetic spirit. Carmen had a rare gift for making every person feel seen, valued and truly important.
Carmen poured his heart into building a life full of love and joy for his family. He will be deeply missed by his “bride”, Joanne; his children, Michael (Lisa), Stephanie (Michael), Monica (Luka) and Robbie; and his beloved grandchildren, Matteo and Mia, who knew him as their proud Nonno.
Though the youngest of the Scaglione siblings, he was a true pillar of strength for them all. Carmen was a great brother to the late Frank (late Rina), Gerry, Mario, and Rose (late Doug), and brother-in-law to Tony (Eva). A loving Zio and Uncle Butch to his nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews, all of whom he adored. He is now reunited in heaven with his beloved parents, Anna-Maria and Giuseppe Scaglione and his “best in the west” friend, AKA Coom, Carmine Pitoscia.
Those who knew Carmen will remember not only his unwavering devotion to family but also his love of music. With a guitar in hand, he never missed an opportunity to sing and bring everyone together in a room.
Over the past year, Carmen showed remarkable strength and resilience, inspiring everyone who had the privilege of “driving” beside him in his fight against cancer. His perseverance through scans, treatments and sleepless nights will never be forgotten.
The Scaglione family is deeply grateful to the compassionate team at Halton Healthcare’s Cancer Care Clinic for the exceptional care they provided over the past year. They supported not only Carmen—the “impatient patient”—but our entire family through the most difficult time in our lives.
Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street, on Sunday, April 12, 2026 from 3-8pm and Monday, April 13, 2026 from 3-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 47 Reynolds St, on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 10am. Interment will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, we hope to raise funds to support this remarkable clinic so they can continue delivering outstanding care to other families facing similar journeys.
He would often say, “I’ll miss myself when I die”, and that perfectly sums up Carmen. He was a big personality who loved life, laughed often and brought joy to everyone lucky enough to know him. We will miss him dearly, carrying his humor, energy, and unforgettable presence in our hearts forever.
Thank you for your love, support and for helping us celebrate a life so deeply cherished.
