Arlete Cabral, 64, of Mississauga, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 17, 1961, in Vila Franca do Campo, São Miguel, Azores, to the late Abel and Maria Cabral. In 1980, Arlete married the love of her life, Manuel Cabral, and together they built a beautiful life in Toronto and later Mississauga.
Arlete was a devoted wife, a loving mother to her daughter Stephanie (Adam), and a proud and adoring Vavó to her grandsons, Aidan, Cohen, and Callum, who she loved to brag about.
Known fondly as “the hostess with the mostest,” Arlete had a gift for bringing people together. Her home was always open, her table always full, and her heart even fuller. She loved to cook and bake for anyone who walked through her door, and those fortunate enough to enjoy her food will never forget the experience — or the love behind it.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 8th, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, located at 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, Ontario. The funeral service will take place on Monday, February 9th, at 11:00 a.m. at Turner & Porter Peel Chapel. Arlete will be laid to rest at Assumption Catholic Cemetery following Monday’s service.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the love she shared so freely with family and friends.
