Zvonimir Kelava

November 28, 1941 -  October 3, 2024

Zvonimir Kelava was born in Glamoc, Bosnia and Hercegovina on November 28, 1941 and passed away peacefully on October 3, 2024 at the age of 82. Zvonimir lived a life full of passion, resilience, and love.

He is survived by his soulmate and wife Milana, and their beloved children, Dragana Carol, Charlie (Wanita), and Robert “Kuki” (Kerri). Zvonimir was a cherished Dida to Philip, Kristen (Mate), Casey, Katlyn, Maddisen, Jacqueline, and Mylanna, and a proud great-grandfather to Ava. He is also survived by his brother Mile (Jelica) and nephew Zvonko.

Zvonimir joins in heaven his father, Filip; mother, Stana; sister, Jelkica; along with his son-in-law and best friend Norm.

Zvonimir had a deep passion for music and loved to sing and dance, bringing joy to those around him with his infectious spirit. He was a member of HKK Zagreb Bowling Club for over 50 years, and also had a lifelong love for soccer with his heart belonging to Hajduk Split. He was a dedicated and hard worker, who took great pride in his craft, running his own company Srem Painting and Decorating. Those who worked with him called him “The General” due to his meticulous nature, energy, intellect and selflessness.

Visitation will be held at the Turner & Porter Neweduk Erin-Mills Chapel, 1981 Dundas St W, (E. of Erin Mills Pkwy.) Mississauga, on Monday, October 7 from 2-4pm, and 6-9pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Croatian Martyrs Parish, 4605 Mississauga Rd, (S. of Eglinton Ave.) Mississauga, on Tuesday, October 8 at 10am, followed by interment at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Mississauga.

Zvonimir’s presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

We are so sorry for your loss. Kum was a great man, with a beautiful voice who had a beautiful love story with Kuma and always had so much pride for his children and grandchildren. I can still hear Tata and him singing at the wonderful get togethers...our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
