In Celebration of

Zofia Kita

June 2, 1937 -  March 15, 2024

It is with profound sadness that the family of Zosia Kita announce her peaceful passing on March 15, 2024 at the age of 86 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Mary Parsons (Mike), Ellie Johnson (Robert), grandchildren, Kristina Johnson, Kathleen Hoogenraad (Mark), Leighanne Johnson (Nick) and great-grandchildren Henry, Abigail, Evelyn and Sienna. Zosia was predeceased by her husbands Ludwik Kita (1990) and George Bieryllo (2004).

Born in Piorkow, Poland, Zosia and Ludwik immigrated to Toronto in 1971 where they settled and through hard work created a stable and fulfilling life for their daughters. Zosia loved travel, crochetting, knitting and her garden, which flourished under her care. She was a devout Catholic which carried her through the good and bad times in life.

The family greatly appreciates the dedicated care that Zosia received from the staff at Copernicus. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Copernicus Lodge.

Friends may call Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel (2357 Bloor Street West) Monday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Casimir’s Church (156 Roncesvalles Avenue) Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 10 a.m. Interment at Sanctuary Park Cemetery (1570 Royal York Road).
