In Celebration of

Zdravko Sucic

April 21, 1932 -  December 27, 2020

It is with a broken heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Zdravko Sucic. Zdravko was the loving husband of 61 years to Antonia (née Muretic), father of Annie Vukovic (Tomo), predeceased by son John, grandfather to Tomislav Vukovic (Teresa), Marica Kovacevic (Darko), Anka Vukovic, Stjepan Vukovic and great-grandfather to Veronika, Valentina and Gabrijel. Zdravko was born in Osojnik, Gorski Kotar, Croatia. He married Antonia in May 1959 and shortly after emigrated to Trieste, Italy where he worked until 1961 to create a better life for him and his new bride. In the spring of 1961, he arrived by boat to Halifax and immediately left by train to Montréal and transferred to Sherbrooke where he did hard labour working on a farm. In 1962, his wife Antonia joined him from Croatia and they moved to Toronto where they raised two children. They later moved to Mississauga in 1978 where they have resided since. Zdravko was known for his excellent work ethic, honesty, humour, love for dancing, gardening and his incredible love for family. He loved to socialize, get together with family and friends, go to picnics, parties, and spend as much time as he could outdoors. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they adored him as well. He had such great strength and an incredible will to live in his final years. His struggle was difficult and long, but it was a well fought battle. We would like to thank the wonderful staff at McCall Centre - Trillium Health Partners for tending to Zdravko for the past year and a half and providing him with exceptional care and comfort during his final days. There will be a private viewing at Turner & Porter - Peel Chapel in Mississauga. A private mass will be held at the Croatian Martyrs Parish in Mississauga and interment will follow.
