With deep sorrow, the family of Zbigniew Piotr “Peter” Kotkowski announce his sudden passing at home, on Friday, August 27, 2021, at the age of 57. Loving husband of Dana, cherished father of Anna Baginski (Matthew), devoted grandfather of Paul and Maks. Peter was born in Jelenia Gora, Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1986 where he met Dana Syryca, his partner of 30 years. Peter was a lover of good debate, good food, and bringing people and family together. He never forgot a birthday or anniversary, and always preferred being face to face with people. Peter gave generously to charities, most prominently to those helping children. He was a devoted Catholic, a family man, and a man of great moral authority. He will be missed deeply by his family and friends.

What moves us is a silence, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch.
We may not understand why you left before we were ready to say goodbye.
But little by little, may we begin to remember not just that you died…
But that you lived, and your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.

Rest in peace to our beloved Piotr.

A Mass will be held in memory of Peter on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, 3055 Bloor Street West, Toronto. For those who wish to attend, please copy and paste the link below to register.
