In Celebration of

Waclaw Zaranko

September 13, 1933 -  August 5, 2023

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Father Waclaw Zaranko, at the age of 89 years, on Saturday, August 5, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Edwarda Zaranko, married for 60 years, and the cherished father of two sons, Edward and Henry and daughter Danuta. His grandchildren Daniella and Darius Farara, Alekzander Zaranko, and the late Tim Zaranko were the apple of his eye, and his love for them knew no bounds.

Waclaw was a kind and giving soul. His loving and supportive nature enriched the lives of all who knew him. He found his greatest joy in spending quality time with family and friends, always there to offer a helping hand, warm embrace or a comforting word. He was a man who never sat still. If there was something to fix, he would fix it. If there was somebody that needed help, he would go help them. If there was something missing, he would find it. If there was someone in distress, he would go comfort them.

Waclaw is also survived by his beloved wife Edwarda and sister Kasia. He was predeceased by his dear brother Alfred and sister Marisia.

Visitation will be held at Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel at 2357 Bloor Street West, Toronto on Thursday, August 10 from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 11, at 10 am at St. Casimir’s Church, 156 Roncesvalles Avenue, followed by interment at Laurel Hill Cemetery at 389 Centennial Drive, Bolton.

In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Forever in our hearts. You were always smiling, always joking. I remember 50 years ago when you arrived unannounced on my parents doorstep singing “Marys moja Marys”my mum, shrieked with delight, burst into tears and promptly burnt the breakfast that she was cooking from excitement at unexpectedly seeing her beloved brother after 15years !
Every major family event was enriched by your presence and that of your family. We would all squash in together in my parents tiny little house which would be full of joy happiness and laughter. You were always on the go. Never could sit still.
You came to visit me in Kent and cleared all the leaves from my garden and then did all the neighbours gardens and driveways.!
You came to my mum’s funeral and weeded all her gardens. She would have approved 😂
Your passing leaves a big hole in our hearts and we imagine you waltzing with Marysia. Drinking a whiskey and eating a strawberry as a “zakaska” and playing cards with Olek and Eli.
Kochamy Cie Wujku. Do zobaczenia Cognato

Dear Uncle Wacek, we will dearly miss you with our whole hearts. You were such a kind and loving man, always helping out others and always with a smile on your face. We will never forget the memories we’ve made with you. I am so glad that we were able to see you before you passed. I (Agnes) cannot be there in person to send you off with the rest of the family, but I take comfort in knowing that I was able to give you one last hug last week. You always asked me how work was going, you always cared to know what was going on with all of us. I’m sure that my parents, Ania and Ted, will never forget your good heart either. Zofia and I will never forget our dear Uncle Wacek. Our sincerest condolences to the entire family❤️ Good men like Uncle W are diamonds in the rough… very rare and very precious.

Spoczywaj w pokoju kochany wujku. Zawsze pozostaniesz w naszych sercach i w myślach ❤️ Aga, Zosia, Ania i Tadziu
