In Celebration of

Winifred Almond Wright

March 18, 1920 -  May 21, 2021

Passed away peacefully on May 21, 2021, at the age of 101 years. Born in England, in 1920, to Arthur and Ada Elliott (nee Gibson). Dear sister of the late Nena McLean (nee Elliott), Arthur Elliott, Robert Elliott, and Edward Elliott. Mourned by a large extended family, “Mimi” was a devoted aunt to many nieces and nephews, and she had several treasured grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Her greatest joy was spending time with them. Predeceased by her loving husband of 39 years, Charles Allan Wright. Winifred worked for 27 years at the Gutta Percha Company and Canada Post.

She will be remembered for her enormous love of family, her beautiful paintings, her love of music, her sense of fun, and her keen intellect. Winifred made many lasting friendships, was a wonderful and exceptional person, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Very special thanks to her friends and neighbours for their kindness and dedication.

A private funeral service will be held, with interment at St. Philip’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Etobicoke, Ontario.

I have so many fond childhood memories of my Auntie Mimi and Uncle Allen and
their love and generosity, peanut butter and banana sandwiches, root beer floats,
a green velvet skirt at Christmas and so many outings.
In my early twenties I made a close reconnection which lasted to her last days.
She was such great example for me and helped me lead a happy and fulfilling life.
We had so much fun and good conversations.
I will miss her for the rest of my days.
Love and peace to you, Mimi

Aunt Wynne was an absolutely wonderful person. We went out on many trips and got lost many times but the fun and laughter we had was not able to be repeated by anyone else. I know she will be missed by many, many people but may the Lord bless her now and keep her safe. She is with Alan which is great.

We had the pleasure for the last 14+ plus years of living directly across from Winn. She was a wonderful neighbour & person. She always looked forward to seeing our boys & watching them grow over the years. She was outside in the spring/summer on the good days sitting out front & we would chat. She was always well kept with her hair & make up done. I admired that. In the neighbourhood she was well known & we would often see people chatting with her. We were hoping to have a big neighbourhood party for her 100th birthday but COVID didn’t allow that. Nonetheless I think it was special. It is a milestone to reach 100 nevermind 101.
She will always be remembered & thought so fondly of. Fly high Winn! Much love,
Samara, Sergio, Isiah & Alex xxoo
