Peacefully on October 27, 2024 William Edmund (Ed) at the age of 93. Beloved husband of 65 years to Virginia (Dixie) Wickham, who predeceased him. Loving and loved father of Marianne (Michael Ryan), Stephen (Ulrike Berninger), Andrea (Michael Block) and Matthew (Klaudia Koncan). Proud and devoted Poppa of Kevin (Sadiyya Edoo) Eric (Nicole Tratnik), Monika, Conor, Liam, Hannah and Judith. Predeceased by his parents and his seven siblings.

Ed was a devoted husband and father, but will also be remembered for his vibrant intellect and vast knowledge of history. Ed was a generous, considerate man, with a mischievous sense of humour. His many tennis, platform tennis and bridge partners will be welcoming him with open arms and booking him for games. Most importantly, he is now reunited with the love of his life, Dixie.

Family and friends are welcome to Visitation at Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W. on Thursday, October 31 from 5:00-8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on November 1 at Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, with reception to follow. Interment will take place at a future date in Knowlton, Quebec.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Food For Children, Covenant House, or Good Shepherd Missions.

The family wishes to sincerely thank Dr. Onyett-Jeffries and the wonderful staff at Delmanor Prince Edward for their compassionate care of Ed over the years and especially the last two months.
