In Celebration of

William Bolychuk

March 30, 1934 -  January 30, 2026

William "Bill" Bolychuk, affectionately known as "Grumpy," passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, holding the hand of his beloved wife, Zena.

Bill was a devoted husband to Zena for 69 years; brother to Helen Kucharchuk; and father to Billy (Sue) and Jim (Cindy). Grandfather to Stephen (Sara), Kristal (Darren), Jessica (Kurt), Caleb (Lauren), and Kim (Darren). Great-grandfather to Nathan, Jaxon, Kenzie, Rylie, Harper and Emmett. Predeceased by his brother Eddie (Marlene) and brother-in-law Steve.

Bill lived a full and meaningful life. A retired TTC driver, Bill volunteered extensively in his community. His service included being a Shriner and a volunteer at St. Joseph’s Health Centre. He was rarely without pockets full of candy or dog biscuits always ready to share, whether you wanted them or not. He will be remembered for his deep love of family, his fondness for Drumstick ice cream, and his uncanny ability to befriend every dog he ever met.

A life well lived and a peaceful passing. Gone, but never forgotten.

Friends may call at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West on Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tributes at 3:30pm

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SickKids Toronto.

From everyone at the greenhouse, Bill was always kind and friendly. Dropping in to see us at the greenhouse he would always have a big smile, make some jokes and always had a candy to offer. I Patricia will always remember him as a wonderful person.
