In Celebration of

William (Bill) Stark

February 23, 1927 -  May 5, 2020

After an extended hospital stay, Bill departed this life on Tuesday, May 5th, 2020. He is survived by his brother, Iain, his loving sons Neil and Bill Jr., and his daughter-in-law Yiren. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Isobel, and middle son Ian.

Bill and Isobel emigrated from Scotland in 1957 and his first job was with the T. Eaton Company, selling typewriters in the College St. store. Over the next 32 years he made his way up the corporate ladder, eventually becoming the Senior Vice-President of Human Resources, a position he held until his retirement in 1990. After retiring, Bill and Isobel spent many years travelling around the world, with New Zealand being their favorite country to visit. He enjoyed climbing and hiking in Scotland and Europe throughout his life, and actually travelled to Mt. Everest base camp while in his seventies. When Isobel passed away, he moved into Walden Circle Retirement Home and made many friends while living there. He also developed a very close relationship with Beth Fenton, whom he greatly missed while being hospitalized. He faced his ultimate departure with dignity and no regrets. Bill was looked after during his last two months by the doctors, nurses and staff of Credit Valley Hospital and Milton General Hospital.

As per Bill's request, there will be no funeral service, however online condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca.

To the Family...Bill was a pleasure to work with/for. He had the perfect temperment for the last job he held in Human Resources...fair, sensitive, objective and good listener. He was a neighbour (block away) for 35 years...often seen touring the neighbourhood on foot. (Isobel toured on her bike everywhere, especially the ORC)
Had the pleasure of working with Son Neil in 1976...sorry for your loss.
Condolences to all...Frank MacTaggart
