William (Bill) Arthur Thompson

January 2, 1937 -  May 22, 2023



Passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on May 22, 2023, at his home at the age of 86.

Devoted husband of Shirley for 64+ years. Loving father of Wendy (Jim), Wayne (Beth), Michael (Sandra), and Heather (Ron). Cherished grandfather of Holly (Justin), Drew (Christine), William, Tyler, Ryan and Hayden. Great grandfather of Wade, Emily, Brody and Ben.

Bill had a successful career in the paper industry for 39 years at Inter City Papers. Bill enjoyed vacationing with his family. He had a love of sports including baseball, hockey and fishing.

We will always carry Bill's memory in our hearts.

Friends may call at Turner & Porter “Peel Chapel", 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow.

Interment to be at Springcreek Cemetery, 1390 Clarkson Road North, Mississauga.

If desired, donations can be made to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.

Bill was such a faithful and lovely man. His sense of humour, and honesty, was something that made him a joy to be around. Any time that you spent around him, you would hear about his family, and he would light up when talking about what they were doing, when he was seeing them, and the adventures they had together. The congregation was blessed to have Bill and Shirley as leaders and a true example of what being faithful was in practice.
