In Celebration of

Wolodymyr (Walter) Turyk

December 2, 1929 -  February 27, 2021

It is with great sadness that we share the news of Walter’s passing on Saturday, February 27, 2021, peacefully at the Ukrainian Canadian Care Center, Toronto, at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Maria for 63 years. Loving father of Peter (Mia Bach), and Natalia (nee Turyk) Mucha (Eugene). Survived by brother Roman (Olga). Cherished Grandfather (Dido) of Anastasia, Stephania, and Victoria; and beloved extended family member to nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces/nephews in Canada, the U.S.A, and Ukraine. Born in Truskavets, Ukraine, Walter arrived in Canada and immediately became involved with the Ukrainian-Canadian community and cultural life with a generosity of spirit and a genial manner; especially in his latter years, he devoted much time and effort to the Ukrainian Canadian Catholic Brotherhood for which he received recognition for his dedicated community service. Walter will be greatly missed. Vichnaya pamyat’ Tato & Dido.

Private family services and interment will take place Thursday 4 March 2021. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ukrainian Canadian Care Center (Toronto), or The Alzheimers Society of Canada, or St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church (Oakville, Ont.).
