In Celebration of

Walter J Sitarski

May 30, 1922 -  September 5, 2021

Our dear father Walter Joseph Sitarski peacefully passed away in his loving home on Sept 5, 2021 in Mississauga.

A man of much laughter and spirit.

Born in Toronto to Polish immigrants Mary Gwowdz and Joseph Sitarski. He was one of six children, Julie Davis (Ray), Jenny Farkas (Frank), Jean Martz (Doug), Josie Galezowski (Ed), Ed Sitarski (Natalie)

Walter grew up in Toronto where he met his loving wife Helena at a dance at the Palais Royale. They soon married and had a long life together raising their 4 daughters. Spending many summers at his cottage he so loved.

Faith and family were everything to him. Walter and Helena were married for 68 years.
His dearly loved wife Helena sadly passed in February 2020.

Walter was a man always ready to lend a helping hand. A longtime member for over 48 years of the #5079 Knights of Columbus. He was involved in charity and community work for many years. He was a long serving active member of the CAW.

Walter worked at McDonnell Douglas and during that time he invented a special safety design that was later utilized in planes.

Known by many for his healthy appetite and love of food, especially desserts! 2nd and 3rd helpings were not foreign to him.
Dad loved the outdoors, sitting on the porch or dock at the cottage. He was happiest in nature.

If you knew Walter you were blessed. If you knew him, you loved him. Always cracking jokes, he was known for his hilarious sense of humour and quick wit. Often saying those things you wished you could and always with a smile on his face.
Dad always had a way to make you feel welcome, feel loved and feel how important you were to him.

Survived by his devoted daughters, Christine Parker (Ray), Teresa Oag (Mike), Victoria Prior (Brian), Donna Dabrowski (Steve). Beloved grandfather of Krystal, Jennifer, Melissa, Desiree, Derek, Sarah, Lucas, Dylan, Cian, Rebecca and Justin, and cherished great grandfather of Sam and Lia.

Walter will be dearly missed by all his dear nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

My first memory of life was the gentle smile of my Uncle Walter. As a toddler I lived at my grandmother’s house with my uncle Walter and uncle Eddie who were young men just starting out. Uncle Walter would come home from work and we would spend hours laughing and playing outside. He was a gentle man who always enjoyed the simple things in life. Good food, good humor and good family life.

He was a resilient man who overcame enormous obstacles in his life and never complained. He worked hard and devoted his life to his family which made his mother very proud.

I loved him very much and I know he loved me. We will all miss this kind soul.
